Where is Our Money, Mr. Orbán? Exhibition on the occasion of PM Orbán’s visit to Strasbourg

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will be addressing the European Parliament in plenary next week. To mark this occasion, we invite you to explore the true cost of his rule in Hungary with our exhibition: “Where is Our Money, Mr. Orbán?”

Join us for the inauguration on Tuesday, 08 October, right after the votes (around 13:30h) at the Flower Carpet exhibition area (LOW building, Floor 0, close to the canteen) or feel free to drop by anytime during the week!

In collaboration with Transparency International Hungary, we’ve put together an eye-opening display of some of the most absurd and wasteful projects funded by Hungarian and EU taxpayers’ money. Expect to see:

  • A canopy walkway, funded with €162,000 in EU grants, where the surrounding trees have been cut down by the local mayor,
  • Cycling tracks that are more hazardous than helpful,
  • And beaches developed with €800,000 in EU grants but mysteriously off-limits to the local population.

This exhibition shines a light on the extent of corruption and mismanagement in Hungary, offering a glimpse into how public money is misused under Orbán’s government. Come and see the “investments” he won’t mention in his speech.

The EU can be our best tool in the fight against corruption, money laundering and tax evasion. But it must also be used in the right way. In the future, the EU should fight corruption much more decisively. That is why I have set up an Intergroup against corruption in the European Parliament.
