About Me

My Work in the European Parliament

I have been a Member of the European Parliament for the Greens since 2019. My core priorities are transparency, democracy, the fight against corruption, and the future of the EU. I led the Greens’ efforts to reform the EU treaties, negotiated the establishment of an independent ethics body for EU institutions, and chair the cross-party Anti-Corruption Working Group. I successfully pushed for the majority of EU funds to be frozen for Viktor Orbán’s government in Hungary and the former PiS government in Poland as long as they undermine democracy and the rule of law. I serve on the committees for Budgetary Control, Constitutional Affairs, and Home Affairs.

Before joining the European Parliament, …

I spent five years leading Transparency International’s work in Europe. Earlier in my career, I gained experience at the German Foreign Office, the EU Delegation in Hong Kong, the consulting firm Deloitte, and France’s prestigious École Nationale d’Administration (ENA).

I studied political science, economics, and law in Leipzig, Paris, and Washington, D.C., earning a Master’s in Public Affairs from Sciences Po in Paris.

During my studies, a group of fellow students and I founded The European Daily, a pan-European newspaper. The project was even nominated for the Charlemagne Youth Prize.

I now live between Brussels and Aachen with my Italian wife and our three children.
